Aerial
Photography
The success of a mapping project will often rest on the
quality of the initial aerial photography.
When aerial photography
is required for a project, GeoInfo searches the existing
archives of major supplies. If photography is unavailable or
unsuitable for requirements then GeoInfo can carry out the
aerial photography or commission a major supplier on the
clients behalf.
Currently GeoInfo
has Aerial photography covering areas around the Bay of
Islands and a large part of the
Kaipara District.

Image Processing
GeoInfo uses Remote
Sensing (RS) Software to process aerial photography and
satellite imagery. During GIS projects, imagery often forms
the base for mapping, it is important to start with the best
available cost effective base.
A core function of the
RS software is orthographic correction of raw aerial
photography to produce ortho-photos. Ortho-photos are aerial
photographs with most of the distortion, associated with the
effect of the camera lens and terrain removed.
