Help with Overlay Maps in Google Earth
This page provides basic help when using maps created by GeoInfo Ltd, that are linked with Google Earth in .kmz file format. Detailed help is available at www.earth.google.com 

The first set of these maps have been produced for Tuwharetoa and can be downloaded from: www.tuwharetoa.co.nz or accessed  from the: "Ngati Tuwharetoa Whenua Kaitiaki Poject" CD.

As more projects are completed, the associated links will be added to this page.

Main Google Earth Window
When you click on the Google Earth link,  Google Earth should start up if installed (if not, you may need to install it from www.earth.google.com)  the Google Earth window should appear as below;

   
 

   Layers (left side of main window)
     Layers can be turns on and off and made semi-transparent.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Click ticks to turn                This slider can make the
off layers.                              map semi-transparent.
                                            
 
Navigation  (top right of main window)                              
  Turning the mouse wheel will also zoom in and out

    This slider makes
     the map 3D.   

    This slider zooms.

 

   This control rotates      and moves the map.

 

Broadband access is recommended when using Google Earth
